1st Fatal Error

The first fatal error: confusing existence with living !

One of the most common mistakes people make is accepting mere existence instead of truly living.

They allow their most precious asset — time — to be consumed by a life that does not reflect who they are, a life that neither fulfills them nor aligns with their deepest aspirations.

Why does this happen?

Many people come to believe that living according to their deepest aspirations is simply impossible. They convince themselves that they have no choice but to accept an existence that falls short of what they truly desire.

Often, they attribute this situation to external causes: unfavorable circumstances, difficult environments, other people, or what they perceive as misfortune. Yet by adopting this mindset, they gradually place themselves in a position of powerlessness.

Stephen Covey, in his research on personal effectiveness, described this dynamic through the concept of the circle of influence. When individuals focus primarily on what they cannot control, their circle of influence shrinks. As it shrinks, they feel increasingly powerless, frustrated, and disappointed. Without realizing it, they allow their lives to be shaped more and more by external forces rather than by their own choices.

Believing that it is impossible to live according to one’s deepest aspirations is the first fatal error.

It is an error that many people only recognize at the end of their lives — when they realize, too late, that they never truly lived and even never really tried!

But the good news is this: It is never too early to begin living life at its fullest.

The moment you decide to reclaim ownership of your life is the moment everything can begin to change.
